How is my information kept safe?

 

Crown Labels is committed to keeping your information safe and secure. We use a variety of physical, electronic and managerial features to help safeguard information that is collected and any information that you provide to us. This includes a SSL security certificate to help keep information transmitted to and from the website secure, including the transfer of any data internationally for the purposes of providing services.

 

Contact and enquiry forms on our website are provided using software from 123FormBuilder. All form records remain private and are only able to be used by Crown Labels. Submissions are not disclosed unless required by law to do so.

 

Mail list sign up forms are provided by MailChimp, with information submitted being transferred to and stored securely on their servers.

 

Do any third parties have access to my data?

 

We use some third party service providers, however these are strictly as data processors in order for us to provide services to you. Crown Labels does not share, sell, distribute or lease your personally identifiable information to any third parties for purposes not outlined in this privacy policy. If this were to occur, it would either be with your permission, or if we are required by law to do so.

 

Cookies

 

We use essential cookies to provide the services and features offered on our website, and to improve our user experience. A cookie is a small data file which is placed on your computer with permission, in order to help analyse web traffic or let us know when you visit a particular website.

Hosting and Page Loading (Wix):

The hosting provider for the Crown Labels website is Wix, and as such a variety of essential cookies are used in order to provide the website and manage user visits. This helps to balance activity across servers and computers and ensure a fast page load speed. These cookies are essential to the provision of the website and do not collect information that is used for personal identification.

Website and Resource Measurement (Google):

Through use of the Google Inc Google Analytics tracking code, we collect data which informs us about the general use of our website by users. Data collected using this service remains anonymous (IP addresses are anonymised), and Crown labels does not have access to any personal information of any individual user.

 

We do not collect demographic or interest based information; we only collect basic information such as traffic to certain pages, to ensure that these can be maintained and optimised, and do not use this data to build identifiable user profiles. We do not directly associate website traffic with specific form submissions.

 

Data collected is retained by Google Analytics for 14 months before automatically expiring and being deleted; this is the minimum time currently available. Both session-only and persistent cookies are used for Google Analytics. 

 

The data used by Google is subject to their own user agreements, which you can view on their Privacy Policy page (external link). You can also opt out of your data being collected for use in this service by using the Google Analytics Opt Our Browser add on (external link), or adjust your personal Google Account settings to change how Google tracks your website visits.

Occasionally we may link to other external websites of interest. While every effort is made to ensure that these websites are safe and secure, we do not have control over these websites and cannot be held responsible for the protection or privacy of any information you provide to them.

To help you manage the links you visit, our website and email marketing content use link identifiers to show internal or direct Crown Labels links and external links. External links are signified by a ↗ symbol whereas internal links are signified by a > symbol.

Additional Links and Information

 

This Privacy Policy was updated on 12th October 2020 to remove reference to the use of Hotjar cookies, as this functionality is no longer in place, and provide further clarity regarding the use of Cookies in general. Only essential cookies related to website provision and basic analytics are used, and we can't use any of the data collected to personally identify users.

We amended our Privacy Policy on 18th June 2020 with information about Hotjar, a newly implemented service used by Crown Labels to better understand user behaviour and further optimise our website design and experience.

This Privacy Policy was amended on 22nd July 2019 with additional information relevant to new mail list sign up forms, subscription options and guide requests. An update was also added to describe internal link identifiers (>) and external link identifiers (↗). 

 

The policy was previously updated on 17th May 2018 to incorporate new requirements set out by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). More information about the GDPR, the Data Protection Act and your various rights are available at the Information Commissioner's Office (external link).
